About Us...
Atwood Trailer Sales and Service was founded in 1968 by Galen Levengood with the help of his wife and their three children, Christy, Del and Matt.
Galen was always in the garage working on something. He had the need to fulfill his God given gift of being creative. He turned an old school bus into a camper fully equipped with a kitchen and bunk beds! Finally, one day he went into business as Atwood Trailer Sales and Service. The business grew not only because it was fulfilling a need in this area, but also because of Galen's dry wit and easy going personality. He would do whatever it took to please his customers and always had a smile on his face.
As a family man Galen wanted to involve all of his kids in the business. Christy was excited to be "secretary" at the age of 16 but instead found herself on a creeper and under a camper helping with the repairs! Sadly, Galen passed away suddenly in 1988 from a heart attack. It was a tremendous blow for the family, but they were comforted knowing Galen would spend eternity in Heaven.
Del, then, decided to quit his job and take over his fathers business. He runs the business the same way his father did; with a lot of heart and that same personality the customers looked forward to. He also wants to do what it takes to make his customers happy.
Del's brother Matt is one of his right hand men. Christy returned to the business in 2009. They work together in their father's business to make their father proud and to serve the people of this area. They are blessed with a team of employees, both friends and family, who have been with them many years.
Del started Mohican RV Center in Loudonville a few years ago. It is operated by his cousin Glen Burky, and Glen's wife Naomi. They are so dedicated to Del and the business that even though there home is in the Atwood Lake Area they spend their week living in a park model trailer in the Mohican Lake Park area and only come home for their days off. That's dedication!
